Some reporters across the National Hockey League and sports in general are there to provide a shock factor of sorts to generate clicks. Which is fine, that's their job. Some reporters however, take it beyond that and are just plain racist hiding in plain site. I think you know where I'm going with this.
The Toronto media reporter I'm referring to is of course, Steve Simmons. Today, he put another deplorable feather in his cap, seemingly attacking Akim Aliu for his skin colour, while comparing him to another player of colour who didn't face the same challenges.
Aliu has been black balled from the game of hockey. Fans immediately jumped on Simmons for his behaviour.
Akim Aliu responded with his own response this evening.
