Washington Capitals under fire for new policy that is viewed as anti-Ukrainian
The Washington Capitals did a good job of protecting Alex Ovechkin from criticism, but it does seem that the team is deserving of some criticism. Some might even be an understatement, as the Capitals have instituted a policy banning any signs that show support of Ukraine. This new policy also bans all Ukrainian flags from all Capitals games.
In the past the Capitals have allowed Russian Flags in the arena and according to fans in attendance last night only Ukrainian flags were confiscated. While the policy states the banning of both flags it appears the enforcement has only gone one direction so far.
This situation continues to be drawing criticism from many, especially those who are overly critical of the Capitals and Ovechkin.
