The ECHL is one of those professional leagues in hockey that lean into the idea of fighting in hockey. As was the case yesterday when the Wheeling Nailers took on the Reading Royals.
With less than 5 minutes to play in the first period, an old time tilt broke out between Nailers forward Sean Josling and Royals forward Devon Paliani. Take a look.
They don't call it the jungle for nothing. These guys all have something to prove and more often than not, this is the only way to prove it.
Fighting is still alive and well in hockey, you just have to know where to look for it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the occasional fight in the NHL now, but with what we know about head injuries, I get it to an extent.
