Zach Whitecloud suffers gruesome looking knee injury in loss to the Boston Bruins
The Vegas Golden Knights and Boston Bruins faced off in a possible Stanley Cup Finals preview. The two teams sit atop their respective conferences and both appear poised for long playoff runs. The Golden Knights are playing some of their best hockey of the season, even without, Alex Pietrangelo who is away from the team dealing with a personal matter.
With the absence of Pietrangelo the Knight's have leaned on Zach Whitecloud to fill a much bigger role. Unfortunately though for the Knights, during the second period an awkward collision with Taylor Hall it appears that Whitecloud has suffered a significant knee injury.
As Hall dives for a loose puck, he rolls over onto Whitecloud's right leg, which folds up underneath him. Whitecloud was clearly in considerable pain and required assistance to the locker room. Whitecloud left the game and did not return, finishing the night with just over 8 minutes in ice time.
After the game Knight's Head Coach, had no update on Whitecloud's condition, and confirmed there likely would be no update today either. This likely signifies that the defender will require some additional imaging and testing.
