Taylor Hall has been a name to watch on the trade market for some time, and now, he's been scratched ahead of a potential trade to the Eastern Conference, which has now been all but confirmed by a top insider.

For weeks now, speculation has surrounded Taylor Hall, with the former No. 1 overall pick benched back in November leading to plenty of trade talk between he and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Now, that speculation has increased after the team scratched Hall on Friday just minutes before the Blackhawks latest game, according to top NHL Insider David Pagnotta.

Following on from that, reporter Andy Strickland noted where he believes a trade could end Hall, keeping his prediction on social media nice and short with this response; 'Carolina'.

The Carolina Hurricanes have been a team active in trade talks surrounding J.T. Miller over the last week, and if they aren't able to land him, perhaps pivoting towards the cheaper Hall could be a way to give this squad the depth they need up front.

Following on from that, TSN's Pierre LeBrun has now weighed in, revealing there's the workings for a three-team dealing involving Carolina, although the top Insider didn't reveal who the third team was at this point in time.

As of right now, all signs point towards a deal getting done, and while it's unclear when that will happen or what the return is, Hall has been a top trade candidate all season long, and it was just a matter of time until he was moved.

Stay tuned for more information as it appears a former No. 1 overall pick will officially be on the move.
