The New York Rangers defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-0 on Tuesday as Igor Shesterkin recorded his third shutout of the season.
During the third period of the game, rookie forward Matt Rempe scored what many would consider the nicest goal of his career, deking Anton Forsberg on a breakaway, roofing a backhander.
The move may silence some critics who think Rempe is nothing more than an enforcer.
In fact, one former NHLer called him the worst player in the league earlier this season.
To be fair to the critics, this was just Rempe's first goal of the season and the second of his career.
That being said, he did enter his name in the NHL record books with the tally.
Rempe and Edstrom, the forward who made the pass to set up the breakaway became the second tallest duo to connect on a goal in NHL history.
With Rempe standing at 6'9" and Edstrom at 6'6", the two men have a combined height of 13'3".
This ties the pair with former Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who stands at 6'9" and fellow defenseman Dougie Hamilton who is 6'6".
There is some confusion about the official heights though as according to the Rangers and Hockey Reference, Adam Edstrom actually stands at 6'7", which would make him and Rempe the second-tallest pair to score a goal outright.
Either way, the goal was an impressive sight to behold, and it was certainly produced by two of the tallest players in NHL history.
