The Anaheim Ducks have shown little to no improvement this year.
The team has an 18-23-6 record through 47 games, good for 42 points. They finished last season with 27 wins and 59 points.
Its not like the Ducks have not done anything to try and improve. Last month the team acquired Jacob Trouba from the Rangers but so far that hasn't worked out very well.
In fact, Trouba is likely to be traded again as the team will likely be sellers at the trade deadline.
This lack of improvement has lead many to question what the organization is doing, particularly with regard to head coach Greg Cronin.
Popular NHL analyst Paul Bissonnette recently went on a rant about Cronin, stating that the Ducks needed to replace him.
Now one of Cronin's former players is speaking up about his poor coaching techniques.
He specifically referenced an instance where the coach berated them on the ice in the middle of an actual NHL game.
This incident reportedly came during a timeout that Cronin called after the Ducks fell behind the Oilers 5-0.
Notably, one fan figured out that this game happened exactly 12 days before Silfverberg announced his retirement from the NHL.
The 34-year-old has not retired from hockey though, instead finishing his career playing in the SHL.
Perhaps he would still be with the Ducks if it were not for Cronin's actions.
