Bruins-Hurricanes discussed major trade at trade deadline

insider reveals major trade almost happened between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins at this years trade deadline.

With trade rumour surrounding Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark and Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas As we start to head into the off-season for most NHL teams and insider is revealed that the Hurricanes and Bruins almost came together at the trade deadline for a major trade.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes almost came together at this year's trade deadline in a trade that would've sent Linus Ullmark to the Carolina Hurricanes; take a look.

Friedman said it's unclear if Martin Necas was involved in the discussions. Ullmark is entering the last year of his contract and has been the subject of trade rumors.

Although Friedman did make it clear that he wasn't sure if Necas Was involved in those talks, with Ullmark entering the last year of his contract next season, it's no surprise that the Bruins wanted to see if they could move him.

Ullmark, 30, played in 40 games for the Bruins this season, he compile the record of 22-10-7 including 2 shutouts, a 2.57 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage.

We'll have to see if this goes any further this off-season, but it looks as though Ullmark and Necas might swap places
