Country Singer-Songwriter Ingrid Andress has made a statement on her performance of the National Anthem at the Homerun Derby and what her next steps are
It was called one of the worst renditions of the American National Anthem ever performed. Now, country music star and four-time Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress is offering an explanation for what happened.
At Major League Baseball's Homerun Derby, Andress was pegged to sing the National Anthem, and delivered a version that was out of tune, sloppy, and downright bad. The criticism online was swift, and unforgiving.
Andress has now broken her silence, apologizing for what happened, and adding that she was drunk and is planning to enter rehab.
"I'm not gonna bullshit y'all, I was drunk last night. I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize
to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let y'all know how rehab is I hear it's super fun.
xo, Ingrid"
Andress is getting plenty of support after her statement, with many fans noting they sincerely hope she gets the help she needs, and gets another crack at the anthem when she's competed her rehab. Andress, 32, has had a number of hit songs, and two albums since her first hit single "More Hearts Than Mine."
