'Brad Marchand is Not Safe': Trade Talks Quickly Heating Up on Boston Bruins Captain

As the Bruins continue to fade into the background, it's becoming more and more likely Boston could consider trading their captain Brad Marchand to another team.
The Boston Bruins had a prime opportunity to pick up what should have been a fairly easy win against a poor Nashville Predators team last night on home ice.
Instead, they're going right back to the drawing board after an embarrassing 6-3 loss that saw them lose additional ground in the tightly-packed Eastern Conference.
The Trade Deadline is just over 48 hours away, and there remains a serious chance that the Bruins could be considering a seismic shift in their leadership core in the form of trading captain Brad Marchand.
Per ESPN's Emily Kaplan, the only players on the Bruins roster who can truly be considered untouchable are David Pastrnak and Charlie Coyle, not Marchand.
And then there is Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand, who becomes a free agent this summer. Boston is beginning its retool, and seems to be listening on a lot of players. I'm not sure anyone outside of David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy is safe.
Marchand has been steadfast that he wants to remain in Boston. The Bruins want that too -- just at the right price and term -- and have been negotiating with his camp all season. The sense around the league is that Marchand will stay in Boston, though it's never a guarantee. The Bruins have already made a move leading up to the Deadline, trading Trent Frederic as part of a 3-team trade to the Edmonton Oilers.
Marchand has played his entire NHL career with the Bruins, helping them to the Stanley Cup as a rookie in 2011 and an additional pair of appearances in the Stanley Cup Final in 2013 and 2019.
