Young Calgary Flames Forward and Repeat Offender Faces Suspension After Another Terrible Hit on Taylor Hall
Martin Pospisil has been in trouble many times in the NHL for his hitting, and now, another suspension looms after a boarding call on Chicago's Taylor Hall during what eventually became a blowout for the Flames.
The Calgary Flames took down the Chicago Blackhawks in dominant fashion on Monday night, but now, they may be in danger of losing of one of their most promising young players for a suspension following the hit.
This isn't the first time it's happened, as Calgary's Martin Pospisil laid a massive hit on a Chicago star, but this time it was Taylor Hall, with the 24-year old forward being handed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding.
It's definitely not the worst hit that's been handed out this season, but given the fact that he is a repeat offender, this is likely going to result in a suspension for Pospisil, who has played his role on the top line alongside Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau perfectly this season.
Last season, Pospisil was given a three-game suspension for boarding against the Seattle Kraken, and while he's not racking them up like Matt Rempe, people around the league are very well aware of the style he plays now.
Opinions on the hit appear to be in agreement that a suspension should be incoming for Pospisil, with many citing his history as a major reason that his game needs to be reeled in before he seriously hurts someone.
Unfortunately for Pospisil, he's in plenty of danger of being targeted by opposing players and the league if he continues this play however, and after this hit, it's safe to say that at the very least, a three-game suspension is likely.
