After being criticized for some recent decisions on the ice, Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks is firing back at NHL on TNT analysts.
After brutal comments from both Paul Bissonnette and Mark Messier of the NHL on TNT, Connor Bedard is firing back.
The Chicago Blackhawks are near the bottom of the NHL standings, which wasn't unexpected, but Connor Bedard seems to have been caught in the crosshairs of criticism from analysts with the NHL on TNT.
Earlier this week, former NHLer Mark Messier accused Bedard of looking disengaged on the ice and bringing down his teammates.
"There's no quicker way to destroy the morale of a team than to have players who don't earn their ice time."
Most recently, it was former NHLer Paul Bissonnette who dragged Bedard through the mud, criticizing his ability to make simple plays.
"There's so many little details to his game that he's lacking right now They're going to continue to lose hockey games if that's how he's playing. That is pond hockey."
Bedard himself is now responding to those statements, and he kept it mature, although he did get a bit of a shot in at the end.
"Hey man, I know if I messed up a play. It's their job to point that out, or say how they feel about something. But, I mean, if I make a mistake, I know. So, I don't need to watch a TNT broadcast to figure out if I made a mistake. I'm going to know."
Offensively, Bedard's stats show he is having a good season, with 15 goals and 46 points in 52 games.
The minus-23 doesn't look that great, though. Even when considering the team he's playing with right now.
