The NHL continues to be in morning after the tragic passing of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau. Fans around the league have taken to their local arena to set up memorials for the Gaudreau Family. These setups are highlighted by the memorials setup at Nationwide Arena and the Saddledome in Calgary.
Tributes have popped up across the country with fans dropping items off at their local arenas. This love is a testament to the hockey community and their love for each other. However, as one fan pointed out, these memorials haven't exactly been appreciated at all arenas. So much so, that at the Bell Centre in Montreal, the memorials have been being removed nightly.
This wasn't just a singular occurence and actually occurred multiple times over the weekend. Leading fans to begin to question the organization.
While it would be understandable if this were a policy, in 2022 when Guy Lafleur passed away this area was treated as a memorial for an extended time. Fans continue to wait for an answer, it is unlikely they'll receive one from the organization though.
That leaves us with one question, is it right for the team to be taking down this memorial?
