Another free agent is off the board as Alexandre Carrier is set to re-sign with the Nashville Predators, he would've been a free agent tomorrow.
As free agency draws closer, it seems that most of the targets teams were going after are slowly being taken off the board this time William Carrier is staying put in Nashville with the Predators.
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, The Nashville predators and William Carrier have agreed to a deal meaning he won't be a free agent tomorrow.
Alexandre Carrier and the Nashville Predators are close to finalizing a contract extension. He would be have been UFA tomorrow.
As is common, this time of year, the contract details are not yet known, but LeBrun does mention that he is no longer going to be an unrestricted free agent.
Carrier, 27, is known as a stay home defender, and as such does not put up a lot of points, but rather focusses on keeping the puck out of his net. With that being said, he had 4 goals and 16 assists for a total of 20 points last season in Nashville.
More details on the term of the contract and the AAV when they become available.
