Ever since the incident that took place in the United Kingdom recently, safety involving skates has been a major issue for many in hockey, and now, another scary incident has taken place.
During the New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers matchup on Thursday night, K'Andre Miller and Anthony Richards were battling for a puck when the Flyers centre took a spill.
Unfortunately, that led to an incredibly scary moment when Miller's skate clipped Richards right in the face, leading everyone at Madison Square Garden to collectively hold their breath.
Thankfully, there was no blood on Richards face and he appears to be okay, as this scenario could have ended in immensely tragic circumstances, and at the very least, could have taken him out of the game for some time.
Clearly, there was absolutely no intention from Miller, who was attempting to skate away from Richards after taking the puck away from him, and in a video shown quickly after the situation, he apologized to Richard, even when there was no intent on his part to make something happen.
This could have ended in very bad fashion, but thankfully this time everyone appears to be okay, but with this continuing to happen, it's safe to say that fans and analysts make continue to hear about potential safety measures that could protect both the faces and necks of players from situations such as this.
