As the second full week of NHL action continues, the Patrick Kane rumors are swirling once again. Until Kane actually gets traded, you can look forward to hearing trade rumors for Patrick Kane all season long. Kane is an impactful player and most teams would be interested in his services. Last season Kane had ninety two points in seventy eight games for the Blackhawks. Remember, Patrick Kane has a full no movement clause in his contract so he can pick where he decides to play.

This time, NHL insider Craig Button reports that the Calgary Flames are one of the teams showing interest in Kane. It is intriguing to think of Kane in a Flames uniform. Calgary already has some top scoring players in their lineup and adding Kane would make them a dangerous threat in the Western conference. The Flames are close to the salary cap ceiling so they would have to get creative to fit in Kane. Perhaps some salary would have to go Chicago or another trade would have to fall into place to give Calgary some flexibility cap wise. You would have to think that Chicago would be interested in some future first round picks and some of Calgary's top prospects. Perhaps former first rounders Matt Coronato, Connor Zary, or Jakob Pelletier would have to be included in the deal.

It seems likely that Kane does get traded. It would seem to make sense that Kane is dealt closer to the trade deadline so teams can fit him on their roster and so they can be cap compliant. Calgary is in win now mode. They are a legitimate playoff team. Adding Patrick Kane would probably put them as a Stanley Cup contender so it make sense that the Flames would be interested in him. There are two questions to address though. One, does Calgary have enough picks and prospects that Chicago would like in return? Second, does Patrick Kane want to play in Calgary?

According to Button at least two other teams have also expressed their interest in acquiring Kane. Kane hasn't officially told his GM that he's willing to accept a trade, but both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings have both reached out to inform Chicago of their interest.

Kane is likely to be the biggest trade deadline piece of the last @0 years.
