The Guelph Storm 17-year-old defenseman Noah Jenken was stretchered off the ice last night in an OHL game.

The Flint Firebirds put up a strong fight but fell 6-4 to the Guelph Storm Friday night at the Dort Financial Center. Unfortunately, a scary injury took the attention away from the game.

In the second period, Guelph defenseman Noah Jenken had to be stretchered off the ice and taken to a local hospital after suffering from a serious head injury following a dangerous hit along the boards.

Check out how it went down in the following video:

Noah Jenken left the ice on a stretcher after a nasty hit to the head, along the boards, from Clatteburg. Noah is being taken to hospital.

Fans don't like seeing such scary incidents. However, they got to witness a great hockey game nonetheless.

Notably, it was the first game of Sam McCue with the Firebirds since being traded.

Even if his team lost, the performance of the Toronto Maple Leafs' seventh-round pick at the 2024 draft gave fans something to cheer about and hope for more in future games.

He scored two points, including the following goal:

McCue, 19, is playing in his third OHL season. He spent the first half of the season with the Owen Sound Attack before being traded to Flint.

In 136 career games in the OHL, the Ontario native scored 41 goals and 28 assists.

When he was traded, his new organization explained what they saw in him and why they wanted to add him to their team in a press release:

"Sam is a guy who sets the example for the rest of the team. He takes and deals out punishment, grinds for every puck, and does what it takes to win games.

He brings energy to his team every time he is on the ice, and uses it effectively when forechecking, battling in front of the net, and annoying his opponents. Sam also adds a scoring touch and the ability to make plays, as per his 18 goals and 31 points.

He is a player we have been interested in for some time and we are happy to add him to our group."
