Another New York Rangers prospect ejected after awful penalty
The World Juniors has seen disappointing attendance numbers that have drawn much of the attention. One other item drawing attention is the number of ejections we've seen over the course of the tournament. Last night Brett Berard was ejected, marking the 3rd time a Rangers prospect was elected from a game.
With the United States trailing 3-1 in the 3rd period, Berard on a nothing play approaches a Czechia player and slew foots him. While the contact seems minimal, it was right in front of the official and is ways going to be called.
This penalty took valuable time off the clock and greatly limited the USA's chances of a comeback. The United States went onto lose the game 4-2, eliminating them from the tournament.
