The Boston Bruins are right in the Wild Card fight in the Eastern Conference, but now they'll be missing their captain week-to-week with an injury just days away from the trade deadline where he could shockingly be moved.

This season has been a letdown for the Boston Bruins, and with days to go until the trade deadline, captain Brad Marchand went down with an injury in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins over the weekend.

Unfortunately, things don't appear to be getting better for the veteran forward, as Joe Haggerty is now reporting that the 36-year old is considered week-to-week with what they are terming an upper-body injury, which was caused when Pierre-Olivier Joseph hit him up against the boards in the corner.

In 61 games this year, Marchand has again been fantastic, tallying 21 goals and 47 points for the team, but with so much trade speculation around the star captain, we may have now officially seen his final game as a member of the Boston Bruins.

Heading into the trade deadline, the Bruins sit just two points back of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff chase, and with growing trade interest in the likes of Trent Frederic and Brandon Carlo, they've got some potentially franchise altering decisions to make.

While Marchand is one of only a few elite level producers on this Bruins team, at 36-years of age it's unclear how much longer he'll be playing at that level, so trading him has become a genuine consideration for the Bruins, and now with this injury occurring, things are made even more murky with the team captain, so keep a very close eye on this situation moving forward.
