Today Bill Guerin and the Minnesota Wild received news that they were hoping they'd avoid this season. According to Dean Evason, the Head Coach of the Minnesota Wild, the team will be without Marc-Andre Fleury for the foreseeable future. Evason revealed that Fleury suffered an upper body injury and would be out of the lineup.
Fleury started this season slowly before finding his game recently. The injury will thrust Filip Gustavsson into the starters net. Gustavsson is 1-3-1 on the season, but has posted respectable numbers otherwise. The Wild will also be forced to recall a goaltender from their AHL affiliate in the meantime.
The Wild currently sit 4th on the Central Division, and are tied for the final Wild Card Spot in the Western Conference. The team will look to weather the storm as they fight to remain in the playoff picture.
