Breaking News - Philadelphia Flyers player announces retirement after 16 seasons
Hockey can be a very cruel sport and when the hands of time pass you by there is very little you can do. After 16 seasons in the NHL, Keith Yandle has made the decision to hang up his skates.
Last season while playing with the Philadelphia Flyers Yandle set the NHL Ironman Streak. Yandle set the streak at 989 consecutive games before he was healthy scratched. Unfortunately the record is likely to be broken this season by Phil Kessel.
Over his career Yandle played in 1109 career games with 4 different franchises. Yandle had interest in continuing his career, but he was only able to find professional tryout options at this time. Due to the lack of interest Yandle opted to call it a career.
We wish Keith the best in whatever comes next after his hockey career.
