College hockey player with an early candidate for Goal of the year
NCAA Hockey has been unfairly discounted as a development program, compared to the CHL and other u18 junior leagues in Canada. Then came Michigan Hockey and Kent Johnson to cement the fact that the NCAA is here to stay as a legitimate developer of talent.
This goal from University Of North Carolina winger, Patrick O'Shaughnessy was nothing short of amazing.
This goal may end up being the greatest goal in ACC history, given how impossible it looks to have been pulled off! It definitely has Jaoirmir Jagr vibes in the chaos and skill it took to finish.
O'Shaughnessy isn't connected to any particular NHL team, as ACC Hockey hasn't been as highly touted as Big 10 Hockey. But this goal shows how many skilled players don't get the right kind of eyes on their play and O'Shaughnessy until playing for the UNC Hockey team, played for the Carolina Hurricanes u15 and Nashville Predators u16 AAA teams.
O'Shaughnessy has 16 goals and 6 assists for 22 points in 17 games with the UNC Tarheels.
