Things so far this season haven't gone to plan for the Philadelphia Flyers who seem to be destined to be a basement dweller in the eastern conference yet again this year. With that being said, they seem to be keeping an eye on the waiver wire and could look at potentially adding some more veteran prescience.
According to Anthony Di Marco of the 4th period, the Flyers are looking at possibly bringing Nick Foligno or Wayne Simmonds.
Simmonds was just waived by the Toronto Maple Leafs and Foligno by the Boston Bruins.
Both are character guys who could seemingly make an impact on a team like the Flyers, although, I think Simmonds has more left in the tank.
In 64 games played with the Bruins last year Foligno had just two goals and 11 assists for a total of 13 points.
While in comparison, Simmonds had 5 goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 72 games last year while still being a physical presence who is not afraid to drop the gloves when needed.
