Edmonton Oilers affiliate employee arrested, facing serious jail time
The Bakersfield Condors are the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. Yesterday the Condors announced that they'd separated ties with their Head Athletic Trainer, Chad Drown. The Condors issued the following statement:
EARLIER TODAY WE BECAME AWARE THAT BAKERSFIELD CONDORS HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER, CHAD DROWN, HAD BEEN CHARGED WITH VERY SERIOUS FELONY OFFENCES RELATED TO CONTACTING A MINOR TO COMMIT A SEXUAL OFFENCE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WE ARE SHOCKED AND DISMAYED BY THE NEWS AND MR. DROWN HAS BEEN RELIEVED OF HIS DUTIES IMMEDIATELY.
Drown is currently being held awaiting bail and is facing multiple charges.
Condors Head Athletic trainer arrested on suspicion of contacting a minor for sex, per @Condors:
Chad Drown arrested Sunday in connection to 2 felonies contact minor to commit sexual offense & 1 misdemeanor to contact minor for sex
He's held on ~57K bail
Previous to working with the Condors Drown worked in the OHL and with Team Canada's under 18 program. Late last night the Oilers released the following statement:
