Edmonton Oilers sign former 2nd round pick to contract and place him on waivers
The Edmonton Oilers continue to look for depth scoring to support Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Today the Oilers announced they'd signed former 2nd round pick Justin Bailey to a 1-year 2-way contract.
Bailey had been playing previously for the Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers' AHL affiliate where he'd collected 4 goals and 6 assists in 16 games.
The Oilers have placed Bailey on waivers and should be clear the Oilers hope to continue with him in the AHL.
Bailey was drafted in the 2nd round, 52nd overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in 2013, but has only played 82 career NHL games. In those games he has 5 goals and 4 assists.
