The Detroit Red Wings are a young team that are up and coming team that are a little ways away from contending again, as such they appear to be gearing up as sellers come the March 3rd deadline.
According to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek during the intermission of tonight's games Tyler Bertuzzi's has been thrown around quite often and he would be a player that could be on the move, take a look:
Marek at the intermission says teams interested in Tyler Bertuzzi, are Dallas, Yzerman and Nill have a relationship. Edmonton has had some interest as well as Tampa. Detroit is asking for a substantial return for him.
Bertuzzi, 27, has had a tough time staying healthy this year and on only 19 games with the Red Wings this season, he has 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 total points.
What's interesting here is the relationship between Steve Yzerman and Jim Nil, because the two have a history, there could be a fit there as they might be more inclined to make a deal, especially if the Red Wings want a sizeable return.
However, you can never count the Tampa Bay Lightning out of anything as history has shown. Edmonton appears to be in on everyone this trade period as well.
It'll be interesting to see how all of this shakes out as we get down to the last few weeks leading up to the deadline.
