A former draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks was not a happy camper after taking a stick to the face that caused some damage, but apparently didn't warrant a call from the officials.
Arvid Costmar plays for Djurgarden of the Swedish Hockey League. During a game against Vasteras, he took a stick to the face that left him a bloodied mess, including a trail of blood on the ice. Despite that, there was no call on the play. Costmar let the officials know how he felt by screaming at them while blood poured down his face.
Costmar, drafted by Vancouver in the seventh round in 2019, told reporters after the game that he needed three stitches to close the wound. He added he was worried about his eye for a bit, but the cut was mostly to the nose.
