Former top 10 pick calls it a career, retires from professional hockey
Former tenth overall pick in 2007 Keaton Ellerby has officially called an end to his professional career. Ellerby last played in the NHL during the 2014-2015 season with the Winnipeg Jets.
After his NHL career came to an end, Ellerby had stops in Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and England from 2015-2022.
The 33-year-old defenceman played 212 games played with Florida, Los Angeles, and Winnipeg. He scored 4 goals and 27 points.
Ellerby will begin his coaching career during the 2022-2023 season. He joined the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL as an assistant coach last week.
