Zdeno Chara busts Yakov Trenin wide open
The New York Islanders have only 3 games remaining on their 2021/22 schedule and with this remaining games likely comes the end of Zdeno Chara's Hall of Fame career. This season Chara returned to where his entire career started, unfortunately for Chara the Islanders couldn't provide the Hall of Famer with one last run to the Stanley Cup.
At the NHL Trade Deadline the Islanders agreed to move Chara if he wanted, but it's rumoured that Chara wasn't sure he could help a team and therefore declined a trade. There was rumoured interest drin teams like the Oilers, Avalanche and Maple Leafs.
With Chara likely retiring, we wanted to highlight some of the best moments of his career. One thing Zdeno Chara is known for is ALWAYS settling a score.
What many people don't know is two-years ago Yakov Trenin wobbled Chara and took a victory from the Big Man. But this season Chara had an opportunity to settle that score and he took full advantage!
If this season is the end of Chara's career this fight will be something I remembered for years.
