Jacob Markstrom slashes Nic Meloche and then spears him in the nuts
Last night's Sharks versus Flames games was one of the more physical games I've watched this year. It seemed like at multiple points that someone was upset after almost every whistle. The closer we get to the playoffs this level of intensity should continue to increase daily.
It started in the first period when Jacob Markstrom got upset after the play with Nicolas Meloche. Meloche seemed to harmlessly skate through Markstrom's crease at which point Markstrom not only slashed Meloche but speared him in a very sensitive area.
On the play Markstom was issued a 2-minute penalty for slashing, but there was no penalty for the spear.
