The Boston Bruins drafted Jeremy Swayman with the 111th pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. It only took Swayman 3 years to make the jump from top prospect to NHL goaltender. The quick turn around has displayed just how much potential and talent Swayman truly has.

According to Swayman though he never expected to be a member of the Bruins. Before the draft Swayman had spent a lot of time talking with another team about being drafted.

Swayman joined John Scott on the Dropping Gloves Podcast and shared the story of his draft year and how he found out he was drafted.

I was looking for Toronto to draft me because I talked to them a ton during the year... Pick 110...they draft another goalie.

Mark Hunter, who was applauded for his drafting abilities opted to draft Ian Scott instead. Due to injury Scott only ever played 8 professional games, none at the NHL level. Earlier this summer Scott announced his retirement from hockey.

The Maple Leafs have spent multiple assets in search of a goalie since, while the Bruins appear to be set in goal for years to come.
