Jon Cooper has shown his ability to be able to do an important thing: Win cups.

However, his mouth is cashing checks his team may not be able to cash this year.

I can't speak for Toronto, but I'll be shocked if our team doesn't come out playing hard. - Jon Cooper

With the series being tied, it shows Cooper is playing mind games, because the Leafs have put up enough resistance to tie the series, however, Keefe needs to keep the foot on the gas to keep the Leafs' pressure on Tampa Bay.

Cooper's obvious lack of respect shows a lack of self-awareness, in regards to his former Vezina winner goalie, Andrei Vasilevsky, who has given up 2 goals to depth forward David Kampf and continues to act as if the Game 1 shutout doesn't exist on paper.

For reference:

Campbell is rocking a 0.924% save percentage and 2.37 goals-against average across 3 games; Vasilevskiy by comparison has a save percentage of 0.890% and 3.72 goals-against-average (statistics from NHL Stats).

Vasilevsky has surrendered 12 goals in 4 games and since Tampa Bay decided to mount a comeback in Game 4, I doubt Keefe will let the Maple Leafs rest on their laurels to give up another.

With Bunting drawing back in with Matthews and Marner, there's hope yet to continue to live in Cooper's head, rent-free.
