Justin Holl takes one of the dumbest penalties you'll ever see putting his team on a 5 on 3

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been ravaged by injuring to their back end, missing Morgan Reilly, TJ Brodie, Jake Muzzin, Carl Dahlstrom, Jordie Benn and now after last night's game versus the Dallas Stars, Victor Mete.
This forces a lot of players to play outside their role and some are just not capable of doing that. Take Justin Holl for example, after having a few good games in the absence of top defenders, he's lucky his play didn't cost Toronto last night.
With the Maple Leafs already on the penalty kill, after Mark Giordano took a delay of game penalty. Holl completely forgets what he's doing, catches the puck, closes his hand and then tries to throw it out of the zone.
Had it not been for Matt Murray, this subsequent 5 on 3 power pay for the Stars could've been the turning point in the game.
Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, they're a part of the game. The problem with Holl is they're far too frequent to warrant a top 4 role on any team. Not only that, but everyone knows you can't cover the puck with your hand. Even the broadcast crew on ESPN were puzzled.
The Leafs won the game thanks to stellar play from Matt Murray, but sooner or later, Holl's constant mistakes are going to cost them dearly.
