It`s been a very fustrating season for the Vegas Golden Knights. After making it so close to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing in 6 games to the Montreal Canadiens last season, the Vegas Golden Knights could possibly miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
The Knights' struggles come as a surprise, especially after they acquired Jack Eichel from the Buffalo Sabres in November. It seemed like the Knights were perfectly positioned to circumvent the cap and have a long playoff run. Unfortunately Jack Eichel hasn't been the game breaker many believed he was going to be. The Knights have also battled a rash of injuries to almost the entire team.
They Golden Knights finally got Captain Mark Stone back into the lineup, but unfortunately that too hasn't helped, and it's clear that they're getting frustrated. Case in point the Vegas Golden Knights were hosting a non-playoff bound, New Jersey Devils in a must win situation.
Unfortunately for Vegas, that "must win" didn't end up in a victory. New Jersey Devils' goaltender, Andrew Hammond stood on his head making 42 saves leading the Devils to a huge win. After the final whistle frustration boiled over for the usually calm, cool and collected, Mark Stone.
