It's been a bad year for Montreal Canadiens' prospect Logan Mailloux. After being suspended indefinitely by the Canadian Hockey League, before the start the OHL season, Mailloux was eventually reinstated after the completion of a review process. This allowed Mailloux to return to the London Knights in January.
Upon his return, Logan was off to one of the best starts in OHL history with a points pace of 120 points. But Mailloux plays a rough and physical style, which has been compared to Shea Weber and Drew Doughty, because of that Mailloux got injured and missed 6 games.
Mailloux returned from his original shoulder injury and was playing well but during a game between the London Knights and Windsor Spitfire, things got heated between the long-time rivals. Logan Mailloux got into a scrum with Spitfires' Pasquale Zito, which escalated into a fight. During the fight Mailloux feel and ended up hitting his head and shoulder on the ice.
To make things worse, Zito punched Mailloux while he was already laying on the ice. The London Knights later announced that Mailloux suffered a separated shoulder and he would be out indefinitely. The news gets worse and Logan Mailloux's agent Dylan Liptrap, shared that there is a good chance Mailloux is going to need surgery and a 4-6 months recovery.
This is definitely bad news for the young defenceman and the Canadiens who were hoping Mailloux would be ready to attend next year's training camp.
