Multiple moves expected to line up with Kadri signing
According to David Pagnotta, there is some movement expected in the New York Islander organization to clean-house in order to make space for their next big acquisition. The signing of Kadri is likely a major domino for a team who has had an extremely disappointing off-season.
Nazem Kadri's ask may have been too much for Joe Sakic and the Colorado Avalanche. But it appears he may have come to terms with his former General Manager, Lou Lamoriello. But for Lamoreillo to make the move work he needs to create some cap space.
There were at one point, 8 teams in the mix for Kadri, but the later we are it seems like the highest bidder may have won.
Given the Islanders have $11 Million in cap space to work with, it may seem the logical decision for Kadri to end up there, given his ties with Lamiorello.
«So I think it's Colorado, if I had to guess, and believe me this is a guess, and I want to stress that this is a guess, I think Colorado and the Islanders are probably the favorites.»-Elliotte Friedman
The Islanders must also sign Kieffer Belows, Noah Dobson and Alex Romanov, all restricted free agents requiring new contracts.
