Team Canada announced their official roster for the rescheduled 2022-23 IIHF World Junior Championship, set to get underway on August 9 in Edmonton.

Canada will be bringing some serious talent with future 1st overall pick Connor Bedard, Mason McTavish, and Kent Johnson as names that stick out.

Unfortunately for Canada there are some original members of the 2022 roster who are out:

- Kaiden Guhle (MTL)
- Owen Power (BUF)
- Xavier Bourgault (EDM)
- Mavrik Bourque (DAL)
- Dylan Guenther (ARI)
- Jake Neighbours (STL)
- Cole Perfetti (WPG)
- Justin Sourdif (FLA)
- Shane Wright (SEA)

Owen Power and Kaiden Guhle really stood out in December before the tournament was postponed due to several COVID-19 outbreaks. The original members that are sitting out will be looking to graduate to the NHL ranks full-time when training camps open in September.

"We are excited to unveil the 25 players who will represent Canada at the World Juniors, as we believe we have assembled a team that will give us the best chance to win a gold medal on home ice,»
said Alan Millar, Canada's director of player personnel in a release.
«We know this group of players and staff will represent our country with pride and embrace the opportunity to compete in a unique summer event in Edmonton.»

Canada starts its tournament against Latvia at 3 pm PT/ 4 pm MT/6 pm ET on Aug. 10.
