NHL Department of Player Safety announces punishment for Casey Cizikas after goalie interference penalty
Last night during the game between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders, Casey Cizikas was ejected from the game early in the first period. After Cizikas let go of a shot on the net he continued forward and collided with Chicago goaltender, Alex Stalock. The collision left Stalock shaken and forced him to leave the game.
Cizikas was issued a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for the hit and Stalock left the game and did not return.
Today, George Parros and the NHL Department of Player Safety announced that the Cizikas would receive a fine for the hit.
NY Islanders' Casey Cizikas has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Goalie Interference on Chicago's Alex Stalock.
It is expected that Alex Stalock will miss some time for the Blackhawks as he waits to be reevaluated. Do you think this punishment is enough for Cizikas?
