NHL Department of Player Safety gives Darnell Nurse another inconsistent suspension

The Edmonton Oilers gave it there all battling back in the 3rd period to force overtime. Just to see the Los Angeles Kings score the game winning goal 1:12 into overtime. The goal game off the stick of Adrian Kempe. The goal gave the Kings a 3-2 series lead. But the news gets worse for the Oilers.

Not only do Oilers have to win to stay alive but they have to do it without their top defenceman, Darnell Nurse. Today the NHL Department of Player Safety announced they had suspended Nurse for one game for his headbutt on Philip Danault.

The incident took place during the final moments of the 2nd period, after Oilers goaltender Mike Smith made a save and had the puck frozen. On the play Nurse turned around and headbutted Danault.

The NHL reviewed the incident and deemed it suspension worthy.
