NHL agrees to give PK Subban his own TV Show
PK Subban continues to look for an NHL contract with minimal success, but it appears the NHL is already planning for life after PK retires. According to Puck Report that NHL has agreed to produce a new television show for Subban beginning in May of 2024. The production of this show is set to begin this fall which could potentially create a distraction for any team looking to sign the veteran defenseman.
Puck Report reported the following information on their Twitter account.
NHL will produce a new show with PK Subban called «PK's Places,» the hockey version of the NFL's «Peyton's Places,» league CMO Scott Mayer said on 32 Thoughts Podcast.
Production begins this fall, regardless of Subban's playing status, and is expected to hit the air in May 2024
Peyton's Place, the inspiration for Subban's show airs on Hulu and is hosted by NFL Legend, Peyton Manning. On the show Manning interviews former players, coaches and other key figures from football history. The show focuses on the history of the game and its cultural impacts.
Subban has been very vocal about his role within the sport as a person of color and this platform would give him the opportunity to speak about topics that are both important to him and the hockey community.
