Last night, the New York Rangers took on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first game of the season for both teams and it didn't take long for things to get a little testy between the two sides.
In what appears to be an awkward collision of sorts, Lightning defensemen Victor Hedman took Rangers forward Vitali Kravtsov into the boards.
Kravtsov went to the locker room after the hit and did not return.
I wouldn't say this was a dirty hit by any means Hedman is significantly taller and it's just an awkward play along the boards. I do however think the falling onto Kravtsov at the end there was a little over the top.
Kravtsov needs to learn to keep his head up and play in positions where he won't get overmatched physically.
At 22 years old, that's a thing that will come with time though. Learning how to keep yourself out of vulnerable spots comes with a little bit more experience
