Once again Sheldon Keefe is pissed off at his team's performance

The Toronto Maple Leafs are playoff bound and they're on pace to break their franchise records for both wins in a season and points in a single season. But that doesn't mean that head coach Sheldon Keefe is satisfied with his team's performance. Actually I'd even go a step further after his recent comments.

The Maple Leafs have a reputation of playing down to the level of their opponent and Tuesday night was no different. A listless Maple Leafs' team lost 5-2 to the Buffalo Sabres, this dropped the Leafs record against the Sabres to 1-3-0 on the season. Not to mention the Leafs were outscored 19-10 over those four games and Sheldon Keefe has taken notice.

It's been 4 games against this team, we've been no-shows in all four.

Games like this is why we're still competing for home ice in the first round. We've played so well for most of the season against most of the teams in the league. Nights like this are holding us back from competing to win the division. That's the disappointing part.

It's clear that Keefe understands that his team's biggest opposition continues to be themselves. One statistic that does seem to stick out in the Maple Leafs favour though is their record against playoff bound teams.

According to this graphic from TSN it shows that not only do the Leafs have the worst record against non-playoff teams, but they also have the best point percentage against playoff bound teams.

So Sheldon Keefe must be hoping that his team maintains this sort of record heading into the playoffs.
