Ottawa Senators going old school with a 'fight class' during Development Camp
NHL Development Camps are in full swing, with teams hoping to get a full look at their prospect pools. The Ottawa Senators are currently practicing at the Bell Sensplex outside of Ottawa. The Senators have brought in a slew of experience to help this year, including former defenseman Wade Redden.
One thing the Senators have decided to do this year is work with all of their prospects on their ability to fight. A fan who was in attendance captured this footage from the Senators camp.
While fighting numbers are down significantly in the NHL there is ways a need for players to understand how to protect themselves. These skills used to be taught to players in juniors or sooner, but it's nice to see an NHL team carrying on these traditions.
