Robin Lehner suffers another major loss as more bad news about his financial situation surfaces
News surfaced over the weekend that Robin Lehner had filed for bankruptcy. Early reports stated that Lehner's bankruptcy stemmed from a failed venture in an exotic snake farm. Those reports also stated problems began after Lehner's partner in the venture was murdered, causing Lehner to lose approximately $1,200,000.
Now it seems that Lehner's problems run much deeper. According to additional information Robin and his wife both filed for bankruptcy on December 30th. According to documents the Lehner's owe over 50 creditors and their debts in total range for over $50,000,000.
The Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing offers a glimpse into the couple's financial problems, including money owed to no fewer than 50 people and companies, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
They filed for bankruptcy Dec. 30, months after a Wisconsin company sued Lehner for $4 million, claiming the NHL player and his father failed to make any payments last year on a business loan.
The Lehner's claim their assets total between $1,000,000-$10,000,000. Former coach Pete DeBoer commented on Lehner's situation.
He's a good person and he was a good teammate here. He played a lot of good hockey for us, and I wish him well.
