In Wednesday night's game between the Arizona Coyotes and San Jose Sharks, a scary incident unfolded. The Coyotes' Clayton Keller ended up having to be taken from the ice on a stretcher.

Late in the third period, Keller drove towards the net with the puck. He lost the puck while tied up with the Shark's defenceman. Keller then caught an edge and fell awkwardly into the boards. Right away all players around Keller who saw what happened stopped skating and waved for medical staff. They rushed to the the ice to tend to the Coyotes forward. The medical staff then right away called for the stretcher.

Keller did however give the thumbs up as he left the ice which is a positive sign. After the game Coyotes head coach Andre Tourigny did not give specifics of the injury but all but confirmed Keller's season was done.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
