This off-season is set to be one of the biggest off seasons in the last decade if not more. With a heavy and deep upcoming NHL draft, some teams are looking to make whatever move possible to climb the draft standings to go home with a better overall pick.

The Vancouver Canucks seem to be a team in despair. From not playing well on the ice, to having a dysfunctional locker room, it's clear to say the front office is looking at all the possibilities to get this team back on the right track next season.

From the Donnie and Dhali show, Rick Dhaliwal shared that the Vancouver Canucks are set to buy out a couple players this summer.

During the show he mentioned how he would see the Canucks front office buyout J.T Miller as well as Conor Garland.

Miller is set to start his contract extension next season and will be commanding an $8,000,000 cap hit per season. With an all time season high of 32 goals last season, Miller is on pace for another big season but, the $8,000,000 cap hit is a big contract to swallow for a player that isn't a 40 goal scorer.

Conor Garland on the other hand is commanding a $4,950,000 cap hit for the next 3 seasons. With a career best of only 52 points in the 21-22 season, most could probably agree that he comes at a steep price.

The Vancouver Canucks are looking to rebuild. Obviously buying out a contract will still have an influence on the cap, but Vancouver would save $6,500,000 on their cap on Miller's contract alone. It will be interesting to see what the Canucks will do this offseason and how they will regroup for the 23-24 NHL season.
