Vancouver Canucks veteran teaches Flames prospect an important lesson with a left hand
The NHL preseason is a time for players to make an impression on their coaching staff and management group. For players who lack a scoring touch they often look to do this with their physical play. That's exactly the approach that 22-year-old Adam Klapka took in last night's game.
Klapka has yet to play a professional game on North American soil, but he is definitely looking to make the Flames. Last night he learned a very important lesson though when he dropped the gloves with Vincent Arseneau.
Earlier in the game Arseneau attempted to get under the skin or Milan Lucic without much success. In the second period he was called for roughing and cross checking against Lucic, but he was unable to draw a response. But in the 3rd Klapka attempted to extract some revenge for his teammate unsuccessfully.
During the fight Klapka ate a solid left hand from the minor league journeyman that sent him to the ice, but he popped back up and ate a few more shots.
