Noah Hanifin has quietly turned into one of the better defensemen in the NHL. While not receiving the name recognition of some other major players, he has developed into the top pair dman the Carolina Hurricanes thought they drafted. Now after the Calgary Flames summer there were multiple teams looking to pick the scraps when it looked like the Flames may be forced to rebuild.

One of those teams were the Boston Bruins. After losing Johnny Gaudreau and hearing the rumors of Matthew Tkachuk's departure, the Bruins called the Flames about Hanifin. According to Steve MacFarlane of Calgary Hockey Now, when they were told the price the conversation stopped.

It would cost the Bruins F David Pastrnak if they wanted to acquire him, so the Bruins likely won't get him.

With Pastrnak in the final year of his current contract it's possible the Bruins look to trade him if they're unable to reach a deal and fall out of the playoff race. But a deal for Hanifin doesn't make sense for the Bruins, as much as I'm sure the Flames would love this trade.
