Zach Hyman doesn't hold back, accused Alex Edler of trying to intentionally hurt Connor McDavid
During the second period of last night's Edmonton Oilers versus Los Angeles Kings game, Kings defender Alex Edler threw a questionable hit on Connor McDavid. On the play Edler leads with his knee and knees McDavid. This is a similar play to the one used by Edler to hurt Zach Hyman, during the NHL 2021 season.
After the end of the 2nd period Gene Principe of Sportsnet had the opportunity to interview Hyman about the incident and Hyman didn't mince words.
He did to me a couple of years ago. Exact same play. I was out for two months & you know, just did it to Connor. Same thing. It's an extremely dangerous play.
This sort of hit has become commonplace in Edler's repertoire. Unfortunately the NHL hasn't taken many steps to discouraging this hit. Edler only received a 2 game suspension for his hit on Hyman in 2021.
