Though last summer's free agent acquisition of Tyler Bertuzzi didn't exactly start as planned, he turned out to be a very valuable piece for the Maple Leafs down the stretch and through the first round of the playoffs. So much so, the Leafs have started talking to Bertuzzi on a possible contract extension.
Now, former NHLER turned insider Jordan Schmaltz has released a contract projection that he thinks would be guaranteed to keep Bertuzzi in Toronto for at least the next three seasons, honestly, it's a pretty fair deal if the rugged forward is willing to accept it.
Bertuzzi, 29, played in 80 games for the Leafs last season collecting a total of 43 points including 21 goals and 22 assists.
